Rant 1
It’s kind of amazing and unnerving at the same time when you find another artist that uses a different medium to capture the exact same image/thoughts you wanted to project out from yourself.
Especially this piece right here:

very similar to what i wanted to portray…

Makes you wonder if I’m still allowed to explore my own “reflections” : / without getting tangled in copyright infringements, accusations, etc. (depressed) because I’m obviously the smaller fish in cases like these
Night Progress

so continuing on for reflection pieces for painting class…

closeup on first layer.
Night Progress (cont.)
couldn’t think of what to add from this to make it more narrative…

besides dots… and marks

it’s supposed to be viewed this way to support the collection themes of having more focus on the “reflected” part… but realizing a lot of people might view it this way instead anyways:

fishtank totes (updated from sketch)
.. it’s blurry and bad quality pic. will update better quality at a later date

Istoria~Musa~
One of my favorite musical artist is Shikata Akiko.
And one of Shikata Akiko’s most recent albums is called: Istoria~Musa~.
(Although every single one of her albums have been a great inspiration to me)
Basically, it’s an album that has tracks/musical stories about each of the 9 muses dervied from Greek mythology.
Not only is the music godly (200 seperate vocal tracks compiled into one- Shikata’s trademark) but the art theme they chose for the cd artbook and such… it’s very Alphonse Mucha. Makes sense I suppose… after all, the illustrations are depicting women/goddesses.
Took a piece of the album’s website to post. The shapes and palette are very intricate, delicate and beautiful. Celtic-ish.
